Coconut Oil, our ultimate moisturizing ingredient!🥥
In addition to being a beach staple, coconut oil plays a key role in some of our favorite formulas here at Modern Podiatrist. Known for its high fat saturation, coconut oil is packed with elements that help nourish + restore your skin for the long haul.
What's in Coconut Oil?
Multiple fatty acids! Fat acids are important because they act as building blocks of your skin's outer layer, adding strength + hydration. Fatty acids also build up your moisture retention, elasticity + soothe inflammation of the skin.
How Does Coconut Oil Help My Feet?
On top of restoring moisture, these medium-chain fatty acids also include antimicrobial properties that help shield your skin from harmful bacteria. A lot of skin infections (hello, Athlete's Foot!) are caused by routine bacteria or fungus building up on your skin + nails. Coconut oil has a high concentration of Lauric Acid, the most effective fatty acid for preventing bacterial growth. Coconut oil can also accelerate healing for any superficial wounds you may have on your feet, while also working to prevent infection.
To recap, coconut oil is good for:
✔️Restoring Moisture
✔️Strengthening Your Skin
✔️Aiding in Bacteria Protection
✔️Improving Healing + Inflammation
